Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at the airport or hotel, meet and greet and receive a tour briefing. Head to Volcanoes National Park, one of only four national parks in the world where mountain gorillas can be seen. The journey north passes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that characterize much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually ascending to the magnificent volcanic base, where at times as many as five peaks can be seen.

Dinner and overnight at Gorillas View Hotel (Luxury)/La Palme Hotel (Luxury)/Kinigi Hotel (Budget).

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park gorilla tracking

Go gorilla tracking at Volcanoes National Park (subject to availability at the time of booking). Tracking gorillas in the light forest on the slopes of Virunga is a magical experience. If you’re lucky, you can spot the gorillas, spend an hour with them and get back to base in time for lunch! However, some gorilla families are more elusive and tracking can take all day, especially when it’s wet and muddy.

Return to Kigali in the afternoon and arrive in the evening.
