After an early breakfast, your driver-guide will take you on a scenic road transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, a journey of approximately 6 hours. Along the way, you’ll pass through verdant tea plantations, rolling hills, and bustling roadside markets that reflect the vibrancy of Ugandan rural life. The drive is a journey in itself, offering photographic opportunities and a sense of connection with the landscapes.
Upon arrival, you will check into Turaco Treetops Lodge, a modern eco-lodge nestled at the edge of Kibale Forest. Kibale is renowned as the “Primate Capital of the World,” home to 13 primate species and a thriving population of wild chimpanzees. Guided by expert rangers, you will follow fresh nests, feeding signs, and vocal calls until you encounter a troop of chimpanzees.
Spending an hour with these fascinating primates is unforgettable. Watch them groom each other, play, communicate with loud hoots, and swing energetically through the treetops. The birdlife is equally impressive, with sightings of African fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers, and saddle-billed storks.
After the boat cruise, enjoy a game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, where herds of Uganda kob, buffalo, and elephants graze.
